Special Educational Consortium (SEC)

The Special Educational Consortium (SEC) is a group of organisations who protect and promote the rights of disabled children and children with special educational needs (SEN). They work with the government, the Department for Education, members of Parliament and other organisations when there are proposals for changes in policy, legislation, regulations and guidance that may affect disabled children and children with SEN.

The SEC works to represent SEND issues by:

  • Providing the SEN and disability sector with a strong and unified voice with which to talk to Government, Parliament and officials.
  • Providing a forum for the its members to develop their thinking on education policy and set political strategy across the sector.
  • Providing policy responses on behalf of its members.
  • Supporting members of Parliament to improve legislation.

Please see the SEC website for more information.
