Wandsworth Young Carers Project

The Wandsworth Young Carers Project aims to ensure that young carers receive support and have the opportunity to have a break from caring to meet children and young people with similar circumstances.

The project works with children and young people aged 5-18 years who provide care (physical and/or emotional) for a family member who has a physical disability, mental illness, serious illness, drug/alcohol dependency or HIV/Aids.

The project offers:

  • monthly club nights for four age groups (5-7 years, 8-10 years, 11-13 years and 14 years and over);
  • social activities and educational and emotional support workshops during the school holidays; and
  • family support and advocacy where possible.
